Research Paper and Dissertation - What is the Difference

Research Paper and Dissertation - What is the Difference? Many times I have been asked by a professor or doctoral student what the main difference between a research paper and a dissertation's paper is. And when I was trying to be helpful, I had already spent the last ten years as a journalist in different countries of the world writing different types of papers.A research paper is basically an argumentative paper, where it takes place over a debatable topic that has been researched hard and the conclusion that has been made becomes the point of view on which the research paper focuses on. You will not find all your argument in one go, but you are required to put a step by step discussion of the debatable topic to make a strong argument. The argument is something you have carried out and you are entitled to have that opinion on the topic that you have researched. As the term implies the thesis statement is not the main part of the research paper. The main part of a research paper, espe cially a dissertation is to go into more detail and discuss the topic in greater depth. This is also known as research which takes up a great deal of time to complete. You should include as much research as possible and the argument has to be convincing and factual, therefore making it difficult for your professor or the other reader to argue your case.If your research is so well researched, that it is the basis of the thesis statement of your final document, then you have to show why it is correct. For example the question I get asked is 'Is the essay what you research? ', and the answer is yes and no, and the reason being, your thesis statement is based on your research so therefore it is the basis of the essay. However, your dissertation's paper should not be based solely on research. Instead, the papers should show the breadth of knowledge that you have gained, whether it be from reading books or joining forums related to the topic, so that you can present the arguments in a conv incing manner.Writing research papers is very demanding. You have to show how you have approached the subject you have researched and presented your findings in a way that is convincing and makes a good impact. In a research paper you are not allowed to write anything that is speculative or subjective. Your topic should be factual, and if you state anything subjective then you are not allowed to provide supporting evidence in your research paper.Writing a research paper, especially a dissertation, is very demanding. These guides will show you how to deal with different types of topics, how to design the thesis statement, what to write and how to structure the whole re search paper.
